What is PRP + Microneedling?

Close-up of a woman's face showing skin imperfections and pigmentation issues.

What is PRP + Microneedling?

PRP Microneedling is an advanced skin rejuvenation treatment that combines collagen induction therapy with your body’s own natural healing properties.

During this treatment, a small amount of your blood is drawn and processed to isolate Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP)  a concentrated source of growth factors that help repair, regenerate, and restore the skin.

Microneedling creates controlled micro-channels in the skin, stimulating collagen production while allowing the PRP to penetrate deeply for enhanced results.

How It Works

This treatment works in two powerful steps:

1. Microneedling (Collagen Stimulation)

Tiny micro-channels are created in the skin to trigger a first-stage wound healing response, stimulating collagen and elastin production.

2. PRP Application (Cellular Regeneration)

PRP is applied topically and/or injected into the skin to:

  • Accelerate healing
  • Boost collagen production
  • Improve skin texture and tone
  • Support long-term skin regeneration

Benefits of PRP Microneedling

  • Improves skin texture and tone
  • Reduces fine lines and wrinkles
  • Minimizes acne scars and surgical scars
  • Tightens and firms the skin
  • Enhances skin hydration and glow
  • Improves under-eye darkness and crepey skin
  • Supports hair restoration (when used on scalp)

Disclaimer

PRP Microneedling is an elective cosmetic treatment designed to improve the appearance and quality of the skin by combining microneedling with Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) derived from your own blood.

This treatment is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition or disease.

Please inform your provider of all medical conditions, allergies, medications, supplements, bleeding disorders, autoimmune conditions, recent cosmetic procedures, and any active skin conditions before receiving treatment.

Full disclosure is essential to determine whether PRP Microneedling is appropriate for you.

PRP Microneedling is not recommended for patients with active acne breakouts, active skin infections, open wounds, cold sores, or other inflammatory skin conditions in the treatment area. Performing treatment over active infections or inflamed skin may increase the risk of complications and delay healing.

If you have active acne, a chronic skin condition, or any medical concerns, we strongly recommend consulting with your board-certified dermatologist, primary care physician, or appropriate healthcare provider before scheduling treatment. Some patients may require written medical clearance before treatment can be safely performed.

Because PRP is prepared from your own blood, patients with certain blood disorders, bleeding disorders, platelet disorders, active infections, severe anemia, or those taking certain blood-thinning medications may not be appropriate candidates. Your provider will review your medical history during your consultation.

Patients with acne scars but no active acne lesions or breakouts may still be excellent candidates for PRP Microneedling following a professional evaluation.

Some patients may require medical clearance from their primary care physician, dermatologist, or appropriate medical specialist before treatment. If medical clearance is recommended based on your medical history, medications, or overall health, treatment may be postponed until written clearance is received.

Skin Institute of Aesthetics reserves the right to postpone or decline treatment if we determine that additional medical evaluation or physician clearance is necessary to ensure your safety or if treatment is not appropriate at the time of your appointment.

Results vary by individual. Multiple treatment sessions may be recommended to achieve optimal results.

Skin Institute of Aesthetics provides cosmetic and aesthetic services and does not replace the medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment provided by your licensed physician or other qualified healthcare provider. If you have medical concerns or questions about whether PRP Microneedling is appropriate for you, please consult your healthcare provider before undergoing treatment.

Please inform your provider if you are currently using or have recently used any prescription topical or oral medications, including but not limited to tretinoin (Retin-A), adapalene, tazarotene, hydroquinone, topical antibiotics, corticosteroids, benzoyl peroxide, prescription-strength exfoliating products, isotretinoin (Accutane), or any similar acne medications or physician-prescribed skincare treatments.

Please also disclose if you have recently undergone or are planning to undergo laser treatments, IPL, radiofrequency procedures (including Morpheus8), chemical peels, dermabrasion, or other cosmetic treatments in the area to be treated. This information is essential to determine the appropriate timing of your treatment and to help minimize the risk of irritation, delayed healing, scarring, pigmentation changes, or other complications.

Your privacy is important to us. All personal health information shared with Skin Institute of Aesthetics is handled in accordance with applicable HIPAA privacy requirements. We encourage you to provide complete and accurate medical information so we can perform a thorough consultation, determine whether treatment is appropriate, and provide the safest care possible.

Failure to disclose relevant medical information, medications, allergies, or recent procedures may affect your candidacy for treatment and could increase the risk of complications.
